Magazines, newsletters, newspapers, comics and zines, stapled or perfect bound, in runs from a handful to thousands.
There is no minimum order, so a small run of a zine or a first issue costs you only what you print. As the page count grows, the binding changes: stapled for slimmer titles, perfect bound for thicker ones with a printed spine.
Magazines are often printed on a lighter, uncoated or silk inside stock with a heavier cover to give the publication weight. Zines and independent titles often use uncoated paper for its natural feel. We can recommend a combination once we know the page count, how it will be read and how it will be posted.
Stapled publications need a page count that divides by four. If your layout doesn’t, we can talk through the options before you finalise.

In a stapled magazine, the inner pages push outwards slightly as the sheets are folded, a drift printers call creep, so text close to the outer edge needs a little extra room. Set the page count to a multiple of four, keep type clear of the gutter, and send single pages in reading order. If the cover needs to feel different from the inside, choose the cover stock first.
Tell us what you need, roughly how many and by when. We advise and quote, check your artwork, get your go-ahead, then print, finish and deliver across the UK. The whole process is on how we work.
