Which material for which job?
Mesh banners let wind pass through, so they suit fences, scaffolding and sites exposed to the weather. Correx is a lightweight, weatherproof fluted plastic board: good for temporary outdoor signs and warning boards. Foamex is a rigid foam board with a smooth finish, best for indoor and shorter-term signage. Dibond is a rigid aluminium composite panel for durable, professional signs that last outdoors. Window graphics (vinyl) turn glazing into a display. Pop-up banners are the quick, reusable choice for events and receptions.
Indoors or outdoors?
Tell us where it is going and how long it needs to last, and we’ll specify the right material. A banner made for a day at an exhibition is a different product from a sign that must survive a winter on a site fence.
Installation
We can install banners, boards and window graphics, not just print them. For LUNA Students we took mesh banners, Correx panels and window graphics across three sites from artwork to installation in under five days.
Sizes
Large format is made to measure: tell us the dimensions of the space, or of the frame, and we’ll work from there. If you aren’t sure, send us a photo and approximate measurements.
What we need from you
Artwork at the finished size, or in proportion to it, with some extra around the edge. Large-format images can be lower resolution than a leaflet because they are viewed from a distance. Send what you have and we’ll check it. We print Correx warning boards for Foremost Security, built to survive the weather, and exhibition graphics for Warrington + Rose.
Mistakes that cost time and money
Fine detail disappears at banner scale, so keep the message big and simple. Hems and fixings use up the edges, so keep important content away from them. Choosing the wrong material is the expensive one: a lightweight board outside in the wind, or a solid banner where mesh was needed. Tell us where and for how long it will hang, and we’ll specify for that.
