Flyers for a gig, leaflets for a recruitment drive, folded guides for a cinema programme. We print A6, A5, A4 and DL, flat or folded, on stocks from everyday silk to heavy uncoated, and we’ll tell you which one suits the job.
A6 (105 × 148mm) is a handful: good for gig flyers and promotions handed out in the street. A5 (148 × 210mm) is the all-rounder, big enough for a proper message and still easy to carry. A4 (210 × 297mm) gives room for detail, so it suits information sheets, menus and anything that gets read at a desk. DL (99 × 210mm) is the long, slim size that fits a pocket or a letterbox.
If you are posting or door-dropping, tell us how, because a size that fits the delivery method saves money.
Silk and gloss papers (typically 130 to 170gsm for flyers and leaflets) give strong colour and suit photographic designs. Uncoated papers feel more natural, take a pen, and suit text-led leaflets. A heavier weight makes a big difference to how a leaflet is received. If it will be handled a lot or used outdoors, lamination protects it. Tell us where it will end up and we’ll recommend the stock.
A single flat sheet is cheapest and quickest to hand out. A folded leaflet (half-fold, roll-fold or concertina) gives you more space and a more considered feel. A common choice is an A4 sheet folded to DL, which fits a letterbox and holds a lot of information. We’ll show you how a fold will read before you commit.
Print-ready PDF artwork with 3mm of bleed (artwork running past the trim edge so there is no white sliver after cutting), images at 300dpi, and fonts embedded or outlined. If you are not sure whether your file is ready, send it and we’ll check it.
We deliver nationwide, in one drop or split across as many addresses as you need. We print recruitment and service leaflets for Fosse Healthcare across several delivery addresses, flyers for Henning Wehn’s tours and Edinburgh Fringe shows, programme guides for Broadway cinema and pitch flyers for Sauce Shop.
Pictures taken from a website look soft in print: web images are usually 72dpi, and print needs around 300. Text set right to the edge gets trimmed, so keep important words about 5mm inside the cut. Bright blues, greens and oranges on screen are made of light and come out duller in print, so don’t be surprised when a neon design isn’t neon. And on a double-sided leaflet, paper that is too thin lets the other side show through.
None of these are hard to avoid, and we check for all of them before anything is printed.
Tell us what you need, roughly how many and by when. We advise and quote, check your artwork, get your go-ahead, then print, finish and deliver across the UK. The whole process is on how we work.
